ABOUT MACIE CAKES

Hi I’m Macie and I run Macie Cakes! I am the baker, administrator, marketing manager, cleaner and so on!

I studied at college for 3 years to achieve a NVQ 3 in Patisserie and Confectionary when I left school. I then went on to mature and sell cheese in London.

How Macie Cakes started..

Living in London in 2020, I had a bit of a breakdown and was diagnosed with anxiety disorder and moved back to Kent. I had no job, riddled with anxiety and I couldn’t even visit the Drs surgery without having a panic attack.

One evening I made a cheesecake for dessert and it was delicious. I had an idea to sell them online. It made complete sense because I could bake from home and it didn’t matter if I was anxious. Within 2 weeks I had 30 orders for cheesecakes!

At first I was so nervous answering the door to people but over time, customers became friends and everyone was just so lovely and encouraging. I can’t even begin to explain how much baking and my customers have unknowingly helped me overcome my anxiety.

Since 2020, I have slowly built up my menu and the Macie Cakes brand. I make everything in small batches and taste test along the way. Constantly evolving and ensuring my bakes are of a “Macie Cakes” standard. 

Expect velvety marshmallow-y buttercream, the most delicious chocolate chunk cookie dough, award-winning 2-inch high salted caramel millionaires, signature fudgy brownies, show stopping cookie pies and more..
